Change event settings in Apple Invites
After you create an event in Apple Invites, you can change the event settings to pause replies, allow guests to bring a plus one, and more.
Note: If you’re not the host, you can only leave an event in Event Settings.
Change event settings in the app
Go to the Apple Invites app
on your iPhone.
Tap an event.
Tap
, tap Event Settings, then change any of the options.

Go to icloud.com/invites, then sign in to your Apple Account (if necessary).
Select an event.

Additional Guests | Set the number of additional people each guest can bring. | ||||||||||
Approve Guests | Approve guests before they can join the event. See Approve or deny RSVP requests. This option is only available in Event Settings in the Apple Invites app. To turn on Approve Guests on iCloud.com, select Manage Guests instead. | ||||||||||
Remove Background Preview or Show Background Image | Only show the background image to guests after they’ve opened the invitation with a verified email address or from a private link.

Background Image Description | Provide a description of the background image to make it accessible to people who use a screen reader. | ||||||||||
Duplicate Event | Create a new event using the same information. Guests aren’t transferred to the new event. This option is only available in the Apple Invites app. | ||||||||||
Cancel Event or Reactivate Event | Cancel an event to mark it as inactive. You can also reactivate an event you canceled. See Cancel or delete an event for more details. | ||||||||||
Pause Replies | Prevent any more people from responding to the invitation. | ||||||||||
Delete Event | Delete an event to permanently remove it from Apple Invites. See Cancel or delete an event for more details. |
