Expected behaviour

Grub should boot successfully with Kernel 6.16 regardless of generated initramfs size.

Actual behaviour

Regardless of clearing /boot, increasing ramdisk size and disabling DKMS modules, 6.16 Kernel cannot boot Initramfs image is pretty easy to bloat with the default Dracut settings, especially with Kernel 6.16, containing nVidia 570 binaries.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Make sure initramfs image filesize is above 253.000.000 bytes
  2. Reboot computer
  3. Select grub option correspoinding to the bloated initramfs image
  4. error: out of memory
  5. Kernel panic VFS: unable to mount root fs
