Using a supported version?

  • I have searched searched open and closed issues for duplicates.
  • I am using Signal-Desktop as provided by the Signal team, not a 3rd-party package.

Overall summary

There is no "close settings" button once you are in the settings. Alt + Left and mouse button 4 also don't work

Steps to reproduce

  1. Disable your sidebar
  2. Press (Alt ->) File -> Preferences (or Settings, not sure, I'm German) or Ctrl + Comma to open preferences
  3. You cannot exit the preferences unless you enable the sidebar and go to your chats

Expected result

There is an X somewhere, to exit and go back to the chats. E.g. one of the three buttons I sketched in the screenshot.

Actual result

You have to enable the sidebar, go back, and disable the sidebar again.
