If an app wants to stay active in the background, Android requires apps to have a persistent notification.

Could Juggluco use WorkManager to schedule the once-per-minute work it needs to do instead of running in the backgroujnd constantly? I admit to not really knowing exactly what Juggluco is doing to receive data from the sensor, so this might not be a viable suggestion.

To make it usefull, Juggluco will show your current glucose level in the notification, if you set left menu->Settings->"Glucose notification".

In my case, I use the GlucoDataHandler app for visualizing the data and managing alarms. Juggluco's UI is not my cup of tea so I prefer GlucoDataHandler being fed data from Juggluco. Other than the extra notification, it's a setup that works quite well. I'm sure you can see why a user might want to hide it to avoid redundancy.
