• challenges to keep facade interfaces in sync with JS libs, requires manual adjustments when JS lib updates
• JavaScript/TypeScript has much bigger ecosystem/community and potential future contributors to the project
• nowadays TypeScript has quite advanced type system that is comfortable to use even with JSDoc types
• recent updates to the JavaScript/Node.js improve developer experience and make transpiling obsolete
