1. Create a new synth, set it to FM mode.
2. Play a couple of notes, BZZZR, BZZZR.

What is the expected behavior?

Nice mellow sounds like on 1.3 and earlier.

When did you start noticing the issue?

Just now, but git bisect identified the argon update at #3932 as the problem.
